Plan Winter Leagues Before September Rush

Start indoor league planning in summer—court blocks, pricing, and promotion so autumn sign-ups are smooth.

Summer is in full swing, but clubs that fill their winter leagues fastest start planning in July, not September. Getting ahead of the rush means your members can commit early and your courts are fully blocked before the autumn scramble begins.

Lock in Court Blocks First

Before any promotion goes out, decide which courts, days, and time slots your league will use. Block them in the Smash Club Dashboard so they cannot be individually reserved—this prevents conflicts once sign-ups open.

Set a Flat League Fee

Winter leagues typically run 8–12 weeks. A flat fee covering all sessions is easier to sell than per-session pricing and smooths out revenue through the quieter months. Separate member and non-member rates clearly.

Open Sign-ups in Late July

An early sign-up deadline creates urgency even during summer holidays. Create a Smash event for your league in the Club Dashboard and set it to Published—nearby players and your existing customer list receive a push notification and email automatically. Put your sign-up deadline, pricing, and how to register in the event description.

Contact Last Season's Players First

Your warmest leads are members who played last winter. Reach out to them before opening to the wider list—early-bird priority is a simple perk that converts quickly.

Let Players Follow for Reminders

Players who see your event in the Smash app can tap Follow to get a push reminder about 24 hours before it starts. Use that for your sign-up deadline, an info session, or league kick-off so interested members get a timely nudge without you chasing them manually.

Starting now takes an afternoon. By September, your league is already sold out.
