"How much is a padel court per hour?" is one of the first questions every new player asks — and the honest answer is: it depends, but it depends on a short, predictable list of factors. Once you know them, you can reliably pay less for the same court.

How Padel Court Pricing Works

Almost everywhere, you rent the court, not a spot on it. The price is per court per hour (or per 90 minutes at many clubs), and you split it between four players. That's the single most important thing to understand about padel costs: a "expensive" slot divided by four is still usually cheaper than a cinema ticket.

The Five Things That Move the Price

  1. Time of day. Weekday evenings (roughly 18:00–22:00) and weekend mornings are peak. Weekday daytime slots can cost substantially less at the same club.
  2. Indoor vs. outdoor. Covered and indoor courts carry a premium — you're paying for guaranteed play, rain or shine.
  3. Location. City-centre clubs and premium neighbourhoods charge more than suburban or small-town venues. Sometimes a 10-minute drive halves the price.
  4. Season. In northern Europe, indoor winter slots are the most contested (and priced accordingly). In hot climates, the premium flips to evening slots in summer.
  5. Membership discounts. Many clubs rent to everyone but give members a lower hourly rate or early booking access.

What This Looks Like Per Country

Price levels differ a lot across the markets where Smash operates — the Netherlands, Spain, Mexico, and Argentina all have their own going rates, and within each country big cities run higher than smaller towns. Rather than print numbers that age badly, every bookable slot in the Smash app shows its live price before you pay, so you can compare a few clubs near you in under a minute.

Five Ways to Pay Less

  • Go off-peak. The same court on a Tuesday at 14:00 can cost far less than at 20:00.
  • Compare neighbouring clubs. Prices for similar courts vary more than most players expect.
  • Split fairly with a fixed group. Four regulars sharing every booking is the cheapest way to play twice a week.
  • Watch for off-peak promotions. Clubs actively discount quiet hours to fill them.
  • Consider a membership only if you play 2+ times a week at the same club — then the discounted rate usually beats pay-as-you-go.
